Rule Changes and Notes

I'm putting these on this space before putting them into the rulebook, to give Hazelweirdos a chance to review, correct, and clarify.  For example, in the amendment to the $300 player rule, nobody told me whether the veto power existed only through the preseason, or continued into the season.

I'll also note that I'm not sure how Yahoo! is applying our regular season or preseason free agency rules.  Somebody will be able to ensure the waiver system is what we want for the regular season in time.  It is possible that we may apply the preseason free agency rules "manually" in a method presented at the draft and to be reviewed later.

We all now have access to the Commissioner Tools on the Yahoo! page (it's a real priesthood of all believers situation now!).

Preseason Free Agency
Preseason Free Agency begins after all preseason games have ended, during the week before the season.  Essentially, the same system we use for the regular season begins the week before the season.  Managers will use their $200 FAAB to make bids on players before Tuesday at midnight, and Wednesday morning players will be assigned to teams.  After the waiver period, there is a "free for all" period when managers may pick up any available players up to the start of that player's team's game for that week.

Trading Amendment
No trades are allowed before or during the draft, and no trade discussions are allowed before or during the draft.

Amendment to the $300 player rule
When a manager is absent from the draft and utilizes the $300 player rule, any trading away of that $300 player is subject to league approval.  If a majority of the league objects to the trade in a timely manner, the trade will be vetoed.

(I would like to add a statement like this: "This rule is meant only to be used if a trade is deemed egregious for league competitiveness."  I believe it clarifies the spirit of the rule, which is sometimes helpful to include in the rulebook.)
