Proposed Rule Changes

#4 added below

Here are some instances where a rule change has been discussed. 1. and 2. are clearly changes to established rules, and require a change. 3. is a little different: we have always had an If/Then Rule, but I am not sure it has ever been established that it may only be used for Sunday Noon games. I have included it here as a rule change, but it may not actually be a rule change but a clarification. That is open for discussion.

If you have any other proposals, please include them in the comments and we can add it to the list of Proposed Rule Changes.

These rules can be voted on at any time, and once we get to five votes the rule will go into effect. There will also be time immediately before the draft when all league members will be present and we may vote on any rule changes.

1. No longer being required to draft every lineup spot at draft time
change

""You are required to draft NINE positions for a standard lineup: QB, WR, WR, RB, TE, W/T, W/R, K, D"

to

"There are NINE positions required to fill a starting lineup: QB, WR, WR, RB, TE, W/T, W/R, K, D. While you are required to draft 16 players during the draft, you are not required to draft all nine starting positions."

2. Moving the end of a week's Free Agent period to the start of Monday night's game.
change

"A manager who is passed is still entitled to that week’s free agent pick, and may make a pick at any time before the start of noon games on Sunday."

to

"A manager who is passed is still entitled to that week’s free agent pick, and may make a pick at any time before the start of the final game of that week (subject to the rule excluding from the free agent pool any player whose team's game for that week has begun)."

3. Expansion of If/Then Rule:

change

"Sometimes, league members have Sunday morning obligations which make it difficult or impossible to follow injury updates and make necessary lineup changes."

to

""Sometimes, league members have obligations which make it difficult or impossible to follow injury updates and make necessary lineup changes just before games."

add

"In its limited capacity, it may be used for any game starting time or day (but is subject to the rule requiring the substitution player to play at the same time or later than the initial player."

4. Change to Preseason Free Agency Rule

change

"If a player you draft retires or is injured and will miss at least week one with injury, you are allowed a preseason free agent pickup. If a player you draft is cut or traded, you have the option of a free agent pickup, even if that player is now on another team.

"To pick up a new player, you must cut the player who was cut, traded, retired, or injured."

To

"If a player you draft is injured and will miss at least week one with injury, you are allowed a preseason free agent pickup.

"To pick up a new player, you must cut the player who injured"
