Another Auction: Comparisons to Our Beloved Hazelweird

So last night I took place in an another auction draft. Outside myself I believe there was only one other person who had participated in an auction before. The league was set up with 10 teams and a $200 cap for 17 players. The settings were very similar to ours except that yards were slightly more important (10 yds rec/rushing = 1pt/25 yds pass = 1pt). So I thought I would take Joe's earlier listing of all players who went for $30 or more in our league and show everyone how much they went for in that leauge (these numbers will be in brackets) and I will not the players that I took. So here we go.

1. Ladanian Tomlinson 123 Rob [$85]
2. Steven Jackson 96 Abe [$77]
3. Joseph Addai 75 Abe [$56]

  1. interesting strategy getting two top tier QBs like that. My thinking is trade bait.

  2. It seems like in general, we got people cheaper. In some cases actually cheaper, and in most cases the % was similar. Perhaps soon you or I can put this in terms of percentages.

I do find this interesting--since most leagues do the snake, it's fun to compare our league's auction results to other auctions.

  3. So there was one more person and 65 less dollars. That will make fun to figure out the percentages compared to our league. I hate math, let's let the rocket scientist do it.

  5. hey I valued Shaun Alexander, I just thought I had a deep enough running stable where one could emerge and I wanted my boy Torry Holt....

  6. i'm sure torry holt would enjoy being referred to as your 'boy.' have we learned nothing from new orleans and 9/11?

  7. Torry Holt is now nobody's boy: he's the proud owner of a chronic knee problem.

How do I know this scares Justin? He offered me Holt for Reggie Wayne straight up, even though he's always had Holt on his team and he knows I've been raving about Wayne all offseason.

    Enjoy your boy's decline.
