**Please read PV's post directly before this one first**
PV got us going right and quick by listing week 1 starters and wondering what all of us thought. I had been thinking about this, but was holding off on the post until right before Thursday of Week 1 Kickoffs. (I do plan to do the same post with up-to-date rosters going into opening week in the case of injuries or emerging stars). So here it goes, I looked at everyone's starters (same as PV's post below except Bryan fixed his starters and chose D.Jackson over A.Johnson) and then went to the week 1 projections for each team. I put no stock in what Yahoo says, as I feel I more than likely will finish somewhere between 4th and 9th week 1, but what do you all think.
(I am thinking about doing this before each week and then keeping track of how Yahoo does in predicting our finishes [not our scores since that would never be right] throughout the year...and at the end of the year see how Yahoo's would have predicted our winner compared to our actual winner)

I bow before you, Justin, and your amazing 1st place finish to the future week 1. Obviously, Yahoo! has some amazing predictions like that Romo is the second best quarterback in the league in week one.
ReplyDeleteI like predictions, but this is rediculous. Why not just post the final standing for the year? How about how the Hazelwierd league will finish in the next five years?
Hey, I didn't say I agreed with Yahoo, in fact I think they are idiots (Brandon Jacobs scoring 9.11 pts..cmon and as you pointed out Tony Romo being the 2nd best QB). I just thought it would be interesting, and I didn't know who was going to be where when I started doing it.
ReplyDeleteI am going to make a regular post out of it each week and compare how Yahoo is doing vs. the actual performances...I think it will be fun to see how far off Yahoo is in their predictions.
I fear no Yahoo projections.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's up to you if you want to bother monitoring Yahoo's accuracy; I just assume it will be way off.
it's great that we've progressed to fantasy fantasy football. next year lets have a computer draft our teams for us so then we can just do trades.
